Soccer Parents & Players

It’s hard to believe that summer has already come and gone and now we’re talking about back to school. I am looking forward to another great year of Berean Soccer and I hope you are too. We lost several seniors last year and we are looking for some new players to fill in those spots. If you know of any students who might be interested in playing this year, please encourage them to come out and play. Preseason is vital for developing teamwork and getting players back in shape since many haven’t played in months. For these reasons it is mandatory that anyone who wants to be on the soccer team be at all practices. We will have practices rain or shine, so if the weather is bad, bring tennis shoes to practice inside.

Preseason this year will be starting on Thursday, Aug 9. Please see the schedule on the back of this letter for days and times of all the practices. I will try my best to keep to this schedule. However, with the busyness of these weeks there is a possibility I might need to make some changes, so please bear with me. The start times for all practices are exact so make sure you arrive early enough to be down on the field ready to play on time. You may wish to bring a water bottle with you since it could be hot out. As always, we will have a large cooler with water available.

There are a few other important details to remember. The start of preseason means that your players are back under school supervision and all school rules apply once again (including rules about facial hair and hair cuts). Also, all players must receive a doctor’s physical and turn in a copy. The hair cuts should be taken care of by the beginning of preseason while the physical and registration fee must be turned in before the first game.

If you have any questions, feel free to call or text me. I’m looking forward to a fun and exciting year of soccer. See you all soon.

In His Service,
Coach Weinand
