Dear BBCS Family,

I want to thank each of you for a great start to the school year. It has been a pleasure working with you and your children at school this year. It is awesome to hear from teachers good reports of learning in the classroom and relationships being built. It seems as if every time we take our students out on a field trip or when people visit our campus, they speak of how well our students behave. They notice the excellence of your children. Thank you for being a part of Berean. We have the best families in the Rockford area.

We are fast approaching the end of the first quarter. Please take note of some upcoming events. 

Spirit Wear Fundraiser

The Senior Class of 2022 is selling t-shirt and hoodie spirit wear. Orders were due today, but we will accept any orders that come in Tuesday morning, October 12. As mentioned on the order form, there is a chance that the supply of garments will not be available in the color that we have arranged. If that is the case, we will be in contact with you to see if a similar color is acceptable or if a refund is desired. We will pass on the ETA of the spirit wear once we get that information. Thank you for all that have participated!

Progress Reports

Progress Reports will be sent to parents via email on Tuesday. This is to keep you in the loop on the progress of your children in regards to their academics. If you have any questions or concerns you can reach out to their teacher to see what can be done. The quarter ends at the end of October, so there is still time to see grades improve before the end of the 1st quarter. 

Parent-Teacher Conferences

As a school, we are here to help and serve you! Parent-Teacher conferences are a great time for parents and teachers to meet and communicate the best way to help each individual child. 

• Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Friday, October 15, from 1:00-8:00 PM. 
• Parents can sign up for a meeting with each teacher individually using the links in this Google Doc:

• School will be dismissed early at noon on Friday, October 15.
• Extended Day WILL be available for parents who are not able to pick up their children early. 

Master Clubs Harvest Pumpkin Party

Berean Baptist Church has a children’s program for church on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM called Master Clubs. Many of our school children from Kindergarten to 6th grade attend and we are so glad you do! On Wednesday, October 20, Master Clubs will be hosting a Harvest Pumpkin Party and we want to invite you all to attend, even if you haven’t come before. Each child will get to take home a pumpkin. We invite parents to stay for our Wednesday Evening Prayer Service in the main auditorium. 

BBC Volleyball Extravaganza

The Berean Baptist Church volleyball team will be having a Volleyball Extravaganza on Friday, October 29, at 6:00 PM. School families are welcome to attend this evening of games for all ages. Come have a great time with your family and friends from school and church. 

Half-Day November 1

The first day of school after the end of each quarter will be a half-day of school to give our teachers an opportunity to go to school. Mr. Weldon will be using the time to provide professional development for teachers in the afternoon. 

• School will be dismissed at noon on Monday, November 1. 
• Preschool will be open full day on these Teacher’s In-Service days. 
• Extended Day WILL be available for this day.
  (In a previous communication, I had said that it would not be available, but we have made this change to accommodate families that cannot pick up their children that early.)
