Dear BBCS Family,
I trust that you are doing well and looking forward to what God has for us in 2021! Today is the end of the 2nd quarter and Report Cards will be sent home next Friday, January 22.
Thank you for the privilege of working with your child(ren). We praise the Lord for His protection throughout 2020 and we pray for His continued protection. As always, if we can do anything for you, please let us know. Our school is a ministry of Berean Baptist Church, and our purpose is to assist families in teaching and training their children to love God and serve Him with their lives.
There are three topics in today’s note:
- Senior Stores Economics Project
- Changes to Chapel Dress for High School Students
- Football Jersey Dress Up Day
Senior Stores Economics Project
Our senior class will be setting up senior stores in the cafeteria each day for two weeks from January 25 to February 5. These stores are simulations of their own businesses where the students of BBCS are their market. The Senior Stores will be open from 7:30-7:55 AM, during High School lunch, and after school from 3:15-4:00 PM. These Senior Stores usually sell spirit wear and food items such as donuts, baked goods, specialty drinks and other sweet treats.
We will conduct these stores in a way that takes into consideration the recommended precautions for COVID. If you do not want your child(ren) to participate in purchasing items from these stores, please let the office know. The seniors will keep their stations clean and will disinfect frequently.
Elementary and Preschool students can purchase from these stores before school or after school but can only purchase items from these stores at lunchtime by turning in an order form by Friday, January 22. The order form will be sent home with Preschool and Elementary students next week.
All of the funds raised from these Senior Stores will go towards their Senior Trip. Thank you in advance for supporting the senior class of 2021.
Change to Chapel Dress for High School Students
Starting Thursday, February 18, high school students will be required to wear dress shoes for chapel days. Several years ago BBCS changed to Schoolbelles as our sole uniform supplier. This change was made to freshen our uniform appearance. We were trying to avoid too many varied outfits created by having multiple uniform suppliers. Our goal is to present a uniform dress code that represents our school well and promotes a positive learning environment. If you have any questions or concerns with this change, please contact Mr. Weldon.
The Parent/Student Handbook policy for shoes is the following:
Shoes: 9th-12th Grade Girls: Casual or dress shoes may be worn with socks and must cover the whole foot. All footwear needs to be kept clean and in good condition. Shoes must cover the whole foot. Shoes must remain on your feet at all times. Athletic shoes may only be worn on Activity days. Shoes typically worn while playing a sport or running around are considered athletic shoes. 6th-8th Grade Girls may wear low cut (below the ankle) clean, well-kept athletic shoes.
Shoes: 9th-12th Grade Boys: Casual or dress shoes may be worn with socks and must cover the whole foot. All footwear needs to be kept clean and in good condition. Shoes must cover the whole foot.
