Certain High School classes use digital books that are available on their school-issued Chromebook devices. These books are made available through the VitalSource website and VitalSource “Bookshelf” app on the school-issued Chromebook device.

Can’t Sign-In?
1. Resetting Passwords

If you ever have trouble signing in to your VitalSource account, you can reset your password, but not without help from the office. To reset your password, you will need to…

1. Let the school office know so the rest of the process will work. (We have to change some settings to allow the reset email to go through.)
2. Go the website to reset your password: https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com/#/user/forgot
3. Put in the email address that you used to create your account. This should be your @bereanschool.com e-mail address.
4. When you click “Submit” VitalSource sends you an e-mail. This e-mail might not have gone through if you did not let the office know.
5. Follow the instructions in the e-mail to reset your password and sign-in.

• This will work if you have the “Bookshelf” app on your device.
• This will also work on personal devices at home. You can have it downloaded on your school-issued device or a personal device at home.

3. Want To Have Your Book Read TO You?

This can be helpful if you have trouble focusing on what you are reading.

• Open the book in VitalSource.
• Click on the Three Dots in the upper right hand of the page for “More Options”.

• Click on the “Read Aloud” option to have the text read to you. (Make sure to get permission from your teacher BEFORE you do this if you want to do this in class or in study hall.)

• A simple player will open up and the text highlighted in yellow will be read outloud.

• You can click on the Gear button to open up settings and change the speed of the reading and the voice.
